Vermont--3rd Most Popular State For Destination Weddings

Vermont currently ranks as the 3rd most popular state for destination weddings. Vermont's premier wedding sites boast historical significance, incredible gardens, unique architecture and outstanding views of the Green Mountains. Choose to have your wedding in late September, early October and your guests will be treated to the most fabulous foliage.

In Northern Vermont, you can have your reception at the Trapp Family Lodge, owned by the Trapp family, whose story inspired the movie "The Sound of Music". There is also the Stoweflake, located in Stowe, where you can treat yourself to a spa package as well. There is also The Wyndham Hotel, located near Burlington's waterfront and The Sheraton also located in Burlington.

In central Vermont, you may recall The Waybury Inn, which became famous during the run of "The Newhart Show," The Middlebury Inn, located within a short walk from downtown Middlebury, has recently undergone extensive renovations.

In Southern Vermont, in the Rutland/Killington area there is The Cortina Inn and The Killington Grand Resort both located minutes just from Killington's ski areas. There is the Holiday Inn in Rutland, and the Sirloin Saloon offers its restaurant as a rehearsal dinner site. Travel a little further south and find such venues as The Equinox in Manchester, The Hartness House in Springfield, and The Castle Hill Resort and Spa, located in Ludlow (just a few minutes from Okemo ski resort). Wherever you choose for your reception site, remember that there are a limited number of weekends in each month, and dates fill up quickly.
