Have a Themed Wedding

A themed wedding is a great way to add cohesion to your big day. It certainly doesn't need to be anything elaborate (for instance your theme could simply be daisies...or gerbera daisies which are quite popular). The trick is then to incorporate your theme throughout your wedding.

Your first step would be to include this theme in your save-the-dates and invitations. It doesn't need to be anything over the top.

This invitation is part of the Tru collection from Carlson Craft and would be beautiful for a fall wedding (Tru has other great floral invitations you can see here). Next, use the flower in your decorating and in your bouquets. Put vases of the flowers in the church, use a picture of one on your wedding programs, put them on your cake and in your centerpieces (simple vases of daisies would make a beautiful centerpiece). Accent the colors of the flowers in the bridesmaids dresses and on the linens on your reception tables. Use the same graphic on your placecards and table cards as well. In the end, the effect will be stunning! You can do this with any theme you choose...just be careful. Fiances are notorious for wanting things simple (my husband kept asking me "Why can't we just have the theme of a wedding?"--men!) but a theme will actually simplify things. It narrows down your choices for everything because you are working with a common element.

Other great themes:
Medieval
1940s and 1920s
"Fall in Love" (using fall leaves on everything)
Tiffany Blue
New Year's Eve (though there is really only one night where this will work)
Cinderella
Winter Wonderland (Snowflakes)

(follow the links to see invitations on those themes)
