Why a Save-the-Date is Important

Save-the-dates have become increasingly popular over the past year, but is it really necessary? Here at Lasso'd Moon Designs, we've found it really depends on your situation. If you are a busy bride, work full time and are a little stressed, the last thing you want is a barrage of phone calls with questions about where your guests can stay and what there is to do around your area. A save-the-date can take care of many of these questions for you. With a save-the-date you can let your guests know when and where, and give them accommodation options and phone numbers so they can make their own reservations.

Some brides send fun magnets or scratch-off cards. We also have the wonderful "Wedding Weekend" invitation which you can see here (it's the "featured design"). The "Wedding Weekend" is a four-layered invitation, with everything your guests need to know...times, places to stay, things to do, and directions on how to get to your wedding. We suggest sending this a little earlier than the standard invitation (about 8 weeks instead of 6) to give your guests a little extra time for making accommodations and planning their trip.

In the end, the save-the-date card can save you a lot of time and hassle, and it's a great way to insure that your guests will have enough time to make sure that they can attend your big day!
